Nyquist Sampling Frequency Calculator

This tool visualizes an imaging system’s sampling frequency as a heatmap based on objective magnification and NA. Adjust wavelength, pixel size, and additional magnification in the Optical and Sensor Parameters panel to match your specific setup. Use the plot toolbar to change display settings, including linear or logarithmic scaling. Enter objective parameters in the My Microscope panel to evaluate sampling frequency and resolution limits in both the specimen and sensor planes.

Please Note: Ideal (Nyquist) sampling is achieved when the sampling frequency is between 2 and 3. Values below 2 indicate undersampling and loss of spatial detail, while values above 3 indicate oversampling, which reduces local signal-to-noise ratio and image quality.
