LINOS Variable Magnification Beam Expanders

The LINOS^® Manual Variable Beam Expanders are specially designed for optical beam forming in laser material processing. Offering continuous variations of the laser beam diameter and divergence, these manual variable beam expanders help optimize focus diameter, focus position and beam propagation within a laser system. The LINOS Variable Beam Expander features precise mechanical scales that allow users to adjust the settings for highest reliability and repeatability. With superb pointing stability, these beam expanders guarantee excellent imaging quality over the full expansion range.

The motorized version of our well-known LINOS^® Variable Beam Expanders enables fully automated laser material processing systems, allowing maximum versatility in the design of laser systems. Faster machine setup times can be realized maintaining laser-protection class during readjustment of the system. Individual presets of laser beam magnification and divergence settings are stored and controlled through a provided Windows™ software.

All LINOS^® Motorized Variable Beam Expanders are equipped with a coated protective glass on the entrance side made of high-grade fused silica. Available for replacement in various versions for different laser wavelengths, these protective glasses feature excellent transmission over the full diameter and show an extraordinary laser resistance.

The LINOS Low-outgassing UV Beam Expander 1x-4x is the first of its kind featuring low outgassing, stainless steel design in an off-the-shelf UV standard product to minimize potential contamination and extend product life for optimal performance. Perfectly matched with our UV F-Theta-Ronar Lens, this product combination offers higher durability compared to conventional products to enable higher UV pulse energies and shorter laser pulses that are essential for laser material processing applications in the semiconductor, wafer processing and electronic display industries.
