Excelitas VTE Series of Light Emitting Diodes
PART/ VTE1291-2H

VTE1291-2H - IRED, T-1¾ (5mm) Plastic Package, 25mW, Beam angle of ±12°

The VTE1291-2H is a GaAlAs Infrared Emitting Diode (IRED) mounted in a T 1¾ (5mm diameter) lensed plastic package with a narrow beam angle. This 880 nm GaAlAs IRED has a narrow emission beam profile, a characteristic making it suitable for smoke detection, IR illumination and optical switching applications.

The VTE1291-2H can be operated in DC mode or in pulsed mode. Pulsed mode is used when a higher optical output power is required for certain applications.

Features and benefits:

  • Narrow optical emission bandwidth
  • Approved for smoke detection applications under UL file S3506
  • RoHS compliant

Applications:

  • Smoke detection
  • IR illumination
  • Optical switching
  • Consumer coin readers
  • Lottery card readers
  • Position sensors
  • Encoders
  • Printers and copiers
