Excelitas Technologies Introduces Newest Addition to Its PAX Family of Precision-Aligned Xenon Light Engine Modules

Latest Precision-Aligned and Pre-Calibrated Xenon Module, PAX-10M, Allows for “Plug-and-Play” Functionality in Diagnostics, Life Sciences, Drug Discovery, and Analytical Instrumentation Applications

Pittcon 2011 – Booth Number 5060 – Today at Pittcon 2011, Excelitas Technologies, a global provider of innovative, customized optoelectronic solutions, introduced the PAX-10M, the newest addition to the PAX Family of precision-aligned, integrated pulsed Xenon light engine modules. The PAX Family is part of Excelitas’ broad portfolio of Xenon and LED-based lighting solutions for instrumentation OEMs.

The entire PAX Family of pre-aligned, integrated modules, which also includes the PAX-6 and PAX-10, offers “plug-and-play” functionality, dramatically reducing OEMs’ field service costs and down-time, eliminating cumbersome optical adjustments in the field. It is ideally suited to a wide range of clinical diagnostics, invitro diagnostics, life sciences, drug discovery, proteomics, and analytical instrumentation applications.

The PAX-10M light engine module offers a full 10 watts of power in a compact, modular design with a remote flash head, allowing for easier integration into space-limited applications. The PAX-10M utilizes Excelitas’ proven pulsed Xenon flash lamp technology, delivering high radiant intensity over a continuous spectrum from the ultraviolet to the infrared. It provides a long life rating over a billion flashes and is available with user-selectable analog or digital intensity control.

“At Excelitas Technologies, voice of the customer is not a slogan or buzzword. It is simply the way we engage in product development. Our PAX Family was developed as a direct response to customer feedback. Customers told us that they wanted to snap together pre-aligned modules, and we listened,” said Joel Falcone, senior vice president and general manager of Excelitas Technologies’ global lighting business.

“Excelitas will continue to emphasize customer-driven innovations like the PAX-10M – to help leading OEMs in the Analytical and Life Sciences space accelerate their time-to-market and bring new breakthroughs in disease prevention and treatment to market faster,” Mr. Falcone added.

Excelitas Technologies will exhibit at Pittcon 2011 at booth number 5060. In addition to the PAX Family, Excelitas Technologies is showcasing a wide range of light emission and detection products and solutions for analytical instrumentation and life sciences, including its growing suite of low light level detection (L3D) offerings. Pittcon 2011 takes place from March 13-18 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
