Excelitas Technologies to Present Fluorescence Illumination and Camera Solutions for Life Science and Medical Imaging at Focus on Microscopy 2025
WHO: Excelitas Technologies® Corp., the leading provider of advanced, life-enriching technologies that make a difference, serving global market leaders in the life sciences, advanced industrial, next-generation semiconductor, aerospace and defense end markets, will highlight its latest X-Cite® fluorescence illumination and PCO® camera solutions at Focus on Microscopy 2025 (FOM). Company experts will also present a session on the evolving multiplex imaging requirements essential for life science and medical imaging applications.
WHAT: Optimized product pairings on display at Booth #30-31 include:
- X-Cite XYLIS™ II Broad Spectrum LED Illumination System: A true arc lamp replacement for routine and advanced fluorescence imaging applications, XYLIS II offers the benefits of LEDs without compromising on price, flexibility or performance. Improvements include sound levels 10dB quieter than the original XYLIS and increased optical output with the broadest spectrum available in a white light LED for fluorescence microscopy. It surpasses traditional arc lamps in brightness, making it ideal for both compound and stereomicroscopes.
- X-Cite NOVEM™ 9-Channel LED Illumination System: The next generation multi-wavelength NOVEM delivers the brightest and most powerful LED Illumination ever. The nine-wavelength, fast-switching system includes spectral coverage from Fura-2 all the way to IR800. It also leverages Excelitas’ patented LaserLED Hybrid Drive® to effortlessly fill the green gap in the challenging 500 nm–600 nm range, with high excitation power for fluorescence applications across the UV-visible-NIR spectrum.
- pco.edge 9.4 bi CLHS sCMOS Camera: Ideal for demanding microscope methods, including Lightsheet Fluorescence Microscopy (LSFM) and Structured Illumination Microscopy (SIM), the pco.edge 9.4 bi CLHS is Excelitas’ first sCMOS camera with photon counting sensitivity. It combines an extremely low readout noise of 0.3 e- with a quantum efficiency of up to 85% and a broad spectrum out to NIR. The camera’s sensor incorporates microlenses and a full pixel height deep trench isolation for crosstalk suppression, resulting in an excellent modulation transfer function. Additionally, it provides a large diagonal suitable for large field of view microscopes using a high-resolution 9.4MPixel image sensor with a square pixel size of 4.6µm and a fiberoptical Camera Link HS interface capable of transmitting up to 4.9 GByte/s.
- pco.edge 26 CLHS sCMOS Camera: The pco.edge 26 CLHS offers high-speed, high resolution streaming by combining the image quality of a 26 MPixel image sensor with unrivaled data transfer options. It features a fiberoptical Camera Link HS interface. Furthermore, pco.edge 26 CLHS operates at a minimum read noise and dark current without compromising image quality, making it a powerful solution for a range of life science and physical science applications.
