Practical implementation of Industry 4.0

Excelitas Technologies® Corp., a global technology leader delivering innovative, customized photonic solutions, announces that the company’s Executive Vice President and COO, Joel Falcone, is presenting a keynote address to industry innovators on the practical implementation of Industry 4.0.

Mr. Falcone will speak at the California Network for Manufacturing Innovation (CNMI) 2018 Summit on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 9:15am PST. His presentation will focus on implementation of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies, or “Industry 4.0.” This manufacturing trend incorporates the latest cyber technologies and Internet of Things to foster interoperability, information transparency, technical assistance, and decentralized decisions. As a leader in global technology development and manufacturing, Excelitas’ operating systems are at the forefront of Industry 4.0 evolution.

Joel Falcone is Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Excelitas Technologies. As COO, Mr. Falcone is responsible for overseeing all facets of Global Operations including Production, Supply Chain, and Operational Excellence throughout the more than 20 manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe, and Asia. Additionally, Mr. Falcone provides leadership for the Customer Service and Order Management organizations worldwide. Mr. Falcone earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Arizona and holds an M.B.A. from San Jose State University. He is also a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Certified Management Accountant.

The CNMI is a collaboration of universities, research laboratories and Manufacturing Extension Partnership Centers. CNMI includes participants from the manufacturing industry, state and federal government, academia, trade organizations, MEP organizations and national laboratories. The goal of the summit is to raise awareness of the benefits of taking lean manufacturing to the next level of improving performance through automation. Key thought leaders will gather to discuss the impact of automation on the productivity and competitiveness of small and medium-sized manufacturers, as well as how robotics, smart manufacturing, and additive manufacturing are changing the way in which products are made and how they are also extending the Lean journey for manufacturers large and small.

CNMI’s 2018 Summit, “Automation: The Next Generation of Lean – Industry 4.0 for Manufacturing” is taking place at the Cove at UCI Innovation in Irvine, CA from 8:00am - 3:00pm on June 7th.
