Time-of-Flight Sensors

Excelitas offers Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors based on proprietary CMOS/CCD imagers. The operating principle is based on the time-of-flight of photons emitted by the illumination source and reflected back from the object to the photosensitive pixels. The system measures the phase-shift between the emitted and received signal, which is proportional to the distance. High photosensitivity and a high-resolution ADC allow measurement accuracy down to a centimeter level depending on the lens, illumination power, and modulation frequency.
