Retardation Film λ/4
The LINOS® λ/4 retardation film is an achromatic, 0.3 mm-thin optical sheet that provides precise phase control of polarized light within the 450–650 nm range. Based on the principle of classical birefringent waveplates such as gypsum or mica, it introduces a quarter-wave phase shift between orthogonal polarization components. When paired with a linear polarizer at 45°, it efficiently converts linearly polarized light into high-quality circular polarization, enabling accurate polarization control in a wide range of optical systems.
The λ/4 retardation film offers a thin, lightweight design that minimizes beam displacement, simplifies integration into compact setups, and maintains stable optical performance. It is available in both unmounted and mounted configurations, with a precision Ø 25 mm mount featuring an adjusting lever for Microbench systems, ensuring easy alignment and reproducible results. This makes it a practical solution for laboratory, educational, and instrumentation applications requiring reliable polarization control.
