BlueLight Small Area UVC Flash Disinfection System

The BlueLight® Small Area UVC Flash Disinfection System provides a fast, reliable, and eco-friendly solution for disinfection without the use of harmful chemicals or mercury-based light sources. This system achieves a reduction of more than 4 logs in microbial load, operating efficiently at high throughputs of up to 500 square meters per hour. Originally designed for disinfecting food packaging, such as beverage bottle caps, this BlueLight system is also effective on other surfaces that require disinfection, including organic materials.

Built on years of research and development within our BlueLight product family, this system offers an efficient and high-performance solution for effective and sustainable disinfection in food and beverage packaging processes. Its compact design saves valuable space compared to wet chemical disinfection installations. Additionally, this flash lamp module can operate at any angle allowing for truly flexible machine integration.

The user-friendly Flash Control Cabinet (FCC) has an intuitive touchscreen interface. Housed in a hygienically designed, washdown-compatible IP69-rated stainless-steel enclosure, it combines power, simplicity, and durability for efficient surface disinfection.

At the core of the system is the Flash Lamp Module (FLM), housing a dual-lamp cartridge that delivers powerful photonic disinfection to the substrate. Designed for efficiency and safety, the FLM includes a quick-change cartridge for fast lamp replacement and a quartz glass breakage sensor for added process safety.

To ensure consistent and reliable results, Excelitas has developed a proprietary ray tracing simulation tool. This advanced modeling technology accurately predicts log reduction rates across a wide range of food packaging and materials, providing confidence in our systems performance and enabling tailored recommendations for specific applications. As shown in the diagram, the system delivers uniform results even on a wet surfaces, ensuring that all samples receive a similar dose.
