The CaliPile™ Mini is the most compact thermopile sensor within the Excelitas CaliPile product family. It is capable of motion detection, presence monitoring and remote temperature measurement. Advanced technology suppresses potential error signals that may arise from thermal shock or changing environmental conditions and allows the sensor to be directly exposed to external conditions. With its compact footprint, the CaliPile Mini is suited for wearables that monitor both occupancy and user temperature in order to limit battery consumption.
The CaliPile Mini is available with multiple field-of-view configurations, supporting precise temperature measurement or presence monitoring in close proximity. The sensor measures its ambient temperature and determines object temperature without physical contact by detecting the far-infrared radiation emitted by the objects. For both temperature measurements, medical-grade accuracy can be achieved, and each unit is individually pre-calibrated. The available products offer different performance characteristics. For example, the TPiS 1C 0986 IRA provides a maximum object temperature of 450 °C, while the TPiS 1C 0987 offers the smallest package size of 3.1 x 3.1 x 1.2 mm.
