The InGaAs Avalanche Photodiode product family from Excelitas features active area sizes ranging from 30 µm to 200 µm, catering to various applications requiring photonic detection between 1000 nm and 1700 nm. The C30645, C30662, and C30733 series of avalanche photodiodes (APDs) are high-speed, high-gain devices made from InGaAs/InP. They offer high quantum efficiency (QE), high responsivity, and low noise within the 1000 nm to 1700 nm spectral range, with optimization at 1300 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths. An enhanced low-noise option for the C30645 and C30662 APD series enables OEMs to achieve advanced noise specifications and optimal signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs). This enhancement increases the detection range using the same laser output power, making it ideal for eye-safe range-finding and LiDAR systems. With a gain of up to 100, the C30733 series sets a new standard for detecting low light intensity fluctuations, essential for advanced Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) systems and other applications.

Avalanche Photodiodes (APDs) are semiconductors that are used primarily to detect and convert light signals into electrical signals. These APDs can be built using Indium, Gallium and Arsenic, which are advantageous as they are able to detect light in the near-infrared (NIR) and short-wavelength infrared (SWIR) with high efficiency and sensitivity.   • C30662EH-1 - InGaAs APD, 200µm, TO-18 - has similar features to the C30662EH but also comes with a Delta Vbd-Vop > 4V.
  • C30662EH-3 - InGaAs APD, 200µm, TO-18, Small-Aperture - similar to the C30662EH while also coming in a similar package but with a small aperture glass window.
  • C30662L-200 - InGaAs APD, 200µm, SMD Package - these high-performance APDs have high speeds and large areas and provide high quantum efficiencies and responsivity while keeping noise to a minimum within the 1000 nm and 1700 nm spectral range. They provide an active diameter of 200 µm in a compact SMD package.
  • C30733BQC-01 InGaAs APD, 30µm Fiber Pigtail with FC/APC Connector - this high-speed, high-gain detector features a unique combination of high gain, fast recovery time and low noise performance, making it ideal for high end test equipment and is setting a new trend in high-speed applications that require signal-to-noise rations between 1000 nm and 1700 nm.
  • C30733EH-1 - InGaAs APD, 30µm, TO-18 Low-Profile - optimized for the 1310 nm to 1650 nm wavelength range, this small-area APD provides a 30 µm active diameter in a hermetic TO-18 packaging. It is suitable for use in high-end test equipment where extremely fast response and recovery times are required.

The C30645 Series combines various products of large-area InGaAs Avalanche Photodiodes (APD) with an 80 µm active area.
