You may also need to decide between UV LED and broad-spectrum lamp technologies. For example, UV LED is ideal for heat-sensitive substrates, extremely fast production speeds, and processes with high-performance requirements. Microwave UV curing is often used when broad-spectrum UV output is required to cure highly pigmented or specialty formulations, without reformulating materials for LED compatibility. UV curing systems are designed with shielding, controlled exposure zones, and integrated system controls to limit operator exposure to UV radiation. Many systems also reduce thermal output, particularly UV LED solutions that emit minimal infrared heat.
